Howdy! In addition to teaching English, I am the advisor for the National Honor Society and School Life Team. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in English Literature and a minor in History. My teaching certification is in English Language Arts & Reading grades 8-12.
I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, but I’ve lived in Bryan/College Station for the past 14 years. My husband Neal and I have two kids: Rachel is a sophomore at CSHS and Mikey is a freshman at BCS. We attend Grace Bible Church (Anderson campus).
Hobbies & Interests: reading, writing, poetry, movies, music, fandoms, and pop culture.
Favorite books: The Little Prince by Antoine Saint-Exupéry, The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and everything by Jane Austen.
My recent reads: Call the Midwife by Jennifer Worth, Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, A Constellation of Vital Phenomena by Anthony Marra, Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys, and A Man Call Ove by Fredrik Backman.
Likes: coffee, flowers, old books, dark chocolate (any chocolate), and Grumpy Cat.
Dislikes: bugs, pencils, and decaf coffee.
